SAE J1073 – Spring-Loaded Clutch Spin Test Procedure (Stabilized: Oct 2012)

This SAE Recommended Practice applies to spring-loaded clutches such as are used with manual shift type transmissions.

This document is intended to provide a uniform test procedure for spring- loaded clutches to determine rotative speeds at which they will either burst or withstand a specified limiting speed.
